How upgrading systems assisted The Australian Small Business Champion Awards in optimising security and user experience
The Australian Small Business Champion Awards are an annual all-encompassing awards program that recognises organisations exemplifying the core values of business innovation, employee engagement, customer satisfaction and experience management. Since their inception in 1999, the awards have gained considerable traction, evolving into a prestigious, Australia-wide competition presented through an exclusive annual, high profile event.
An integral part of event management is the online ticketed platform for all attendees. Experience Digital was approached to assist with upgrading their Enterprise Management System/Ticketing System for the Award management. Furthermore, as a customer-facing business, the website required updates to incorporate the new improvements from the ticketing system.
The Business Champion’s website is a front-facing website with modern aesthetics, including an auto-saving entry form. The website held other aspects of a traditional website, which required changes to infrastructure and design. The form itself is fully integrated within the Enterprise Management Software, creating auto profiles within the system. This can be managed by the event administrators within the business, as well as sales, event planning, seat organisation and sponsorship details.
Experience Digital first took the approach of extensively analysing the current database to identify any potential problems or limitations. This involved pulling the script and procedures in order to completely extract, convert and sanitise the database. This process identified opportunities for optimisation by way of increasing the security of the data. As such, following this the Experience Digital team completed a total rebuild of a new database, with the plan to migrate all customer information for secure storage.
Business Champion’s long-standing relationship with Experience Digital is a testament to the success of this project. The optimisation and increased security allowed Business Champions to operate and scale confidently with the understanding that all client data is protected.
As the awards continue to gain considerable traction, Business Champions have maintained a Service Level Agreement with Experience Digital for maintenance and updates of their systems, as well as ad-hoc tasks.
